He is Risen!
Tomorrow is Sunday, March 31st, 2024, a day when most Christians in the U.S. celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the single most important event in history to us. The Christian moral ethic was the foundation upon which our nation was created, and without that moral ethic, the nation as we know it will wither and die, which is exactly what we are seeing, up close and personal. This Sunday is a good time to reflect on our foundation, remember what matters most, and pray for wisdom and discretion, so that Monday, we can resume the struggle to occupy the earth until Christ’s return.
“Surely I come quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Rebranding Update
This is just a quick update on my rebranding progress as we change names from Cass County Concerned Citizens (The 4Cs) to We The People of Cass County MO. Our Substack site has changed from 4CsNews.substack.com to WTPCassMO.substack.com. What does that mean for you? If you have bookmarked or linked to the site, or any of the articles or pages, they are now broken, and you’ll need to update your bookmark to the new site address. Outside of that, everything should still look and feel the same. If you read the newsletters in your email, or just click the links in your email to read the newsletters on the site, you should be fine.
I apologize for breaking those bookmarks, but waiting would have just made it more painful, as every newsletter site address would have the same problem moving forward, compounding the problem over time. If you find any of our partner organizations are still pointing to the old site, please let me know, and I’ll reach out to them to get that corrected.
Thanks!
3000+ Acre Solar Farm Destroyed By Hail
This event in Texas is relevant here in Missouri, because there is a lot of money being spent turning our farmland into solar farms. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I am not against the concept of green energy, like solar and wind. In fact, I would love to be able to tell the power companies to take a hike and power my home using solar panels, windmills, and biogas converters. Unfortunately, the current capabilities of these technologies are completely insufficient for the energy needs of American families. To make matters worse, in its current form, green energy is a scam, costing millions in taxpayer funded subsidies that will never bear fruit. The current green energy movement in the United States is harming our economy, our energy output, and our national security, for zero proven benefit to the health of the environment. In fact, these technologies are now being shown to cause their own damage to the environment, much of which is worse than relying on traditional energy sources, like oil and gas.
Solar farm the size of 2,500 football fields destroyed in Texas amid growing solar e-waste problem
The U.S. has the ability to create energy with traditional sources cleaner than any other nation on earth, and we get better at it every day. We need to lean in on that technology, not replace it with green energy garbage that makes matters worse, and props up leftists and the CCP.
Missouri Homeschool Alliance - Legislative Update
Our friends at the Missouri Homeschool Alliance posted a Legislative Update this week. Good information to have.
Gold and Silver Currency
Jodi Grace did a great podcast on Gold and Silver Currency in Missouri this week, with special guest Patrick Holland, from Missouri Freedom Initiative. It’s a long one, at about an hour and 45 minutes, and I’m only about half-way through it myself, but it’s well worth the listen. There is lots of good information there.
Gold & Silver Currency in Missouri | Jodi Grace
Having gold and silver as currency in Missouri is important, as it gives us an alternative to the U.S. dollar. The dollar is what is called a “fiat money”. The image below gives a brief definition, and is linked to an article on the concept at Investopedia.com.
Consider the consequences of having no alternative to a fiat currency while an out-of-control central bank continues to devalue said currency by endlessly printing more and more money, all while the federal government seems hell bent on killing the greatest economy on earth by enacting hundreds, if not thousands of harmful policies that have the effect of “death by a thousand cuts”.
I, Pencil
In my studies on economics, I came across an excellent essay called I, Pencil, by Leonard E. Read, that illustrates the power of the free market. It is a quick read and very easy to understand.
Most of the media and academia today consider the unfettered free market as an evil or dirty monster from the past that brings chaos and ruination on everything it touches, especially the poor. In their minds, only a market heavily monitored and chained by saintly government overseers can be allowed to exist, or the poor will starve, and the middle class will lose everything.
I don’t think it a coincidence that the study of free market economics, combined with history from a patriotic perspective, is virtually nonexistent in schools, and seriously in decline in universities. This fact is particularly tragic, because while the media is regularly captivated by the cause of “curing” poverty, as though it were a disease, the one “medicine” that has been proven to elevate people out of poverty time and time again, throughout history, and all over the world, is economic growth. The freer the economy, the faster it works. Unfortunately, when evaluating economic freedom for a given nation, the Heritage Foundation and Statista don’t even rank the United States in the top 20.1
If we have any hope of turning things around, we need to help people educate themselves with the truth. The little essay, I, Pencil, can be a great way to start a conversation about economic theory, what works, and what doesn’t. To dig deeper, might I suggest a great video series originally created in 1980 (free market principles haven’t changed) for broadcast television called, Free to Choose, which featured the famous economist Milton Friedman.
There are 10, 1 hour long episodes that help viewers understand many aspects of economics like why free markets are so important, the problems with central planning, and how to stay free. They are all free to watch, and can be a great way to learn in small, one hour increments, without reading lots of dusty old books with mind numbing charts and graphs (I fall asleep when the reading is dry, too). If hour long videos are even too long for you, here are some short, 2 minute condensed version videos. Do you have children? Izzit.org has some great civics, Constitutional, and economics resources for teachers and children, all available for free.
Please share these resources with others, especially young people, and help them understand the importance of the free market in turning generational poverty into generational prosperity!
Also, if you have good resources on economic theory that aren’t dry as mummy bones, let me know. I’m always looking for good resources to learn from!
