July 13th, 2024
Thank you again to all the people that came out for our July We The People of Cass County meeting this last Thursday! We had some great discussion, and I don’t know about you, but I am fired up to finish this primary season active and working hard to help get our conservative candidates through their primaries, and on to the general!
A Note on Newsletter Email Length
Just in case you were not aware, many email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) set limits on the size of emails you receive in your inbox. This does NOT mean that you do not get the entire newsletter. What it means is that when there are emails that are larger than what your provider allows, there will be a link or button somewhere in your email that says something to the effect of “View Entire Message”. If you click that link or button, you will get taken to the entire newsletter. Of course, you can always go to the Substack website for WTP of Cass County MO and see the entire newsletter there if you think you aren’t seeing the whole thing.
MO Grassroots Slate Reinstated!
Ladies and gentlemen, please take a moment to say a prayer to Almighty God for giving us this victory. It may seem like a very small thing, but it is actually bigger than you may realize, and it is the result of many grassroots activists in Missouri and beyond spending a tremendous amount of time (in a hectic primary season, no less) working very hard to get us back our delegate representation at the national convention. This is something that has never been done before. There is so much material I could include in this article that would represent hundreds, if not thousands of hours of work by some very dedicated individuals to get our stolen delegation back in a very short period of time. Rather than inundate you with so much material that you go cross-eyed, check out this article by the Gateway Pundit:
Victory for the People: RNC Credentials Committee Reinstates Missouri’s Grassroots Delegates
Yesterday was a very good day! That said, stay humble, and stay ready. We still have conservative candidates across the state that are at critical points in their primaries, and we need to help them win! Donate what you can! Help them knock doors! The only easy day was yesterday! Godspeed Patriots!
Cass County Republican Central Central Committee Being Taken Over By Politicians and Government Employees
We have discussed this before, but the core of the Republican party are the Precinct Committee (PC) positions (Committee men and Committee women in MO). The PC is actually the base of the party. They elect the Committee officers, including the Chair. From there, the people elected by the Committee vote on up through all the offices above the local Committee, from the Congressional Districts and the Legislative Districts, all the way up to the State Chair and executive board. The base of all of that are the PC positions.
Unfortunately, in the state of Missouri, and especially in Cass county, we now have a strange thing happening. Elected officials, government employees, and their families, are running for PC positions to replace the people currently in many of those seats. So, not only will they control all of government, they will also control the party that works to elect people to those government positions, which in turn control the wages and benefits of the same government employees. Does that sound like a conflict of interest to you?
Freedom Principle MO talked to Travis Heins, a member of the St. Charles Republican Committee recently about this very thing on his side of the state:
Conversations with the Candidate - Travis Heins, St. Charles Republican Central Committeeman
This is not good, folks. Please pray that God’s will be done, and get everyone you can to the polls on August 6th to vote for our grassroots candidates running in each of the Cass county Precincts.
MO Governor Forum
The Annie Frey Show hosted a Missouri Governor Forum on July 11th. You can see that event here:

I think you’ll find this event showcased the differences between Bill Eigel and Jay Ashcroft very well. Oh, and Mike Kehoe didn’t bother to show up. Interpret that however you will.
Project 2025
There is a lot of buzz right now around this “thing” called Project 2025. The earliest references I can find on it during this election cycle appear to be in democrat social media circles when used as a slur or an attack against President Trump. For some reason, it was picked up by Biden’s campaign, and is now part of their official talking points.
I have had a general knowledge of Project 2025 for probably 6 months, or so. The plan itself is huge, so I have not had the opportunity to get all the way through their site or documentation. What I have seen, does not concern me much. This effort is funded and organized by The Heritage Foundation, and the following is from their “About” page:
It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on day one of the next conservative administration.
This is the goal of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. The project will build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative administration: a policy agenda, personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook.
The project is the effort of a broad coalition of conservative organizations that have come together to ensure a successful administration begins in January 2025. With the right conservative policy recommendations and properly vetted and trained personnel to implement them, we will take back our government.
While I am “cautious” about the Heritage Foundation in general, because I find my own beliefs around individual policies and legislation at odds with what they advocate for fairly often1, I have seen nothing thus far in this program that concerns me enough that I would denounce it.
That “broad coalition” that makes up their “Advisory Board” is positively yuge. Some of the names you will likely recognize are The Alliance Defending Freedom, ACLJ Action, American Family Association, Concerned Women for America, Gun Owners Foundation, Leadership Institute, Tea Party Patriots, and Turning Point USA. There are many, many more organizations listed, and I encourage you to look for organizations you trust, and those you don’t.
The fact is, the Administrative State that is the federal government is absolutely massive, and the President, his cabinet, and frankly everyone that the President has direct hiring/firing authority over cannot fix everything that is broken, and certainly not in 4 years. Shrinking the federal government will require hundreds, if not thousands of people, over a period of years, all operating under the same or similar objectives. Project 2025 is an attempt to provide a framework and path toward that end. Personally, I applaud The Heritage Foundation for taking on such an ambitious set of goals and putting their money where their mouth is. That doesn’t mean I endorse this plan, because frankly, there is just too much involved, and it gets very detailed in specific areas of government I am clueless about. SO, now that you have a general overview of what Project 2025 is, let’s address some of the rumors and lies about both it, and President Trump.
Rather than try to address all of the lies that have been spread about Project 2025 in the last week or two, I’ll focus only on a couple of the most egregious and widespread. Mark Hamill, that’s right, Luke Skywalker himself, posted the following on Twitter:
Well, if Luke said it, it must be true, right? Not-so-much…
Project 2025 clarifies its policy proposals in ‘myths vs. facts’ rebuttal
Another lie being spread by democrats is that Project 2025 is President Trump’s “plan”, or that it is the brain child of his campaign. President Trump addressed this himself on Truth Social:
So, as we all know by now, don’t believe everything you read on the internet, and believe nothing you see on TV. Project 2025 is an interesting and worthwhile effort to begin the process of dismantling the administrative state, and I applaud The Heritage Foundation for putting so much time, effort, and energy into such a worthy cause. I can’t say I will likely agree with everything they are advocating, but the main thing is that it has people talking about what it will take to really drain the swamp.
As an example, the Heritage Foundation has pushed legislation, both in Missouri and in other states, in support of School Choice by any means necessary, even if it carries the heavy hand of government control over to private schools and homeschools. In my opinion, that solves nothing. I would advocate for more of an “Educational Freedom” model, that would traverse either a traditional homeschool model with absolutely zero government involvement or control, with no funding, or a logical/physical separation from traditional government schools, with funding, and very limited government oversight.
