WTP of Cass County Voter Guide 2024
We Are at a Crossroads
This Republican primary election in Cass county is just as important as anything you are seeing on the news or social media. In fact, I would argue it is more important, because what happens at the ballot box in this primary, August 6th, will shape local government, boards, and the trajectory of our county and state for years to come. Let’s unpack this a bit, shall we?
Another Small Business Closes Its Doors in KC
Kansas City’s leftist policies have caused yet another small business to close their doors. Sweet Petites, located in the River Market for more than five years, is closing it’s doors.
Sweet Petites KC closes River Market storefront for safety concerns
“While I am proud of what I’ve created with Sweet Petites, I have not been immune to the difficulties of running a small business, both as a busy wife and mother of three and a business owner fighting a town that seems, at times, determined to create barriers that prevent small businesses from thriving.”
“The complete lack of security combined with an untenable parking arrangement in the River Market has created an environment that I no longer feel is appropriate for employees or customers,” (emphasis mine)
Why Does That Matter To Us?
You may be saying to yourself, “Yeah, that’s awful. But what does that have to do with Cass county, or the primary on August 6th?” I’m glad you asked. It’s no secret that the draconian laws enacted by leftists in KC and the larger metro area are pushing people who don’t like all those stupid rules out further into areas like Cass county. The problem is that many of these people do not connect their leftist ideologies to what created the problems they are fleeing. Government officials using policy and practice to turn the police and city planning into social experiments comes from the same root as requiring a permit for a child’s lemonade stand. When people look to the government to provide the solution to all of our problems, government necessarily becomes so large and unmanageable that it simply becomes a tyranny of the majority in power.
The Result Of Leftism Is Tyranny
The key difference between what we call “leftists”, and the rest of us, is in how we define the purpose of government. To most of us, the role of government is to protect the life, liberty, and property of its citizens. To the leftist, it is to control all aspects of life. They will not say this, but if you look at the policies they espouse, that is exactly what their ideal world would look like. The only time I have ever heard a leftist complain about “freedom” is in defense of the murder of babies, or protecting degeneracy in all its forms.
A Free Society Starts Local
These problematic leftist ideologies are being pushed at the local governance level as part of “Urban Planning” initiatives, and “diversity” education programs in schools, championed by “non-political” offices, like county commissioners, city councils, mayors, school boards, etc. They then see that pushers of these initiatives are hired to city planning positions, or appointed to influential positions, like planning and zoning boards and school boards. Once they have control, they begin squeezing the population into the appropriate “boxes” by using strategic messaging pressure tactics, like “We’re all in this together”, “Do Your Part”, and “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity matter”. Sound familiar?
The statement, “All politics is local” is absolutely true. These problems are created at the local level, and they already exist in the Cass county government, and most of the cities in Cass county. There has been a small group of conservative grassroots activists in Cass county that have been fighting back against this leftist ideology for years, but it has been an uphill battle for sure, because most people have been apathetic to the political process. COVID changed that, at least temporarily. When the local “authorities” around the world locked us all down, told us to stay home, and decided for us which businesses were “essential” and which weren’t, people began to wake up. Eventually.
We The People Are Fighting For You
That small group of grassroots activists suddenly began to grow. In fact, it has grown to the point that we participated in a grassroots takeover of the Missouri Republican party state convention this summer. The corrupt state party leadership tried to steal it back, but a LOT of people from all over the country worked very hard to prevent that, and we were able to get our delegate representation at the national convention back. That said, it has not been all sunshine and roses. To be honest, it has been the opposite of that. Every step has been a struggle, and in the process of fighting for YOUR freedoms, we angered both the leftists, who are hell bent on maintaining power in Cass county, and the Cass county “Good ‘Ole Boy Network”, who has decided that they prefer “status quo” over taking back our schools, cities, and county.
These two groups joined forces, and have not only turned out candidates for just about every office up for election in this GOP primary, but they have also recruited challengers to every grassroots member of the Precinct Committee of the Cass County Republican Central Committee. On top of that, many of these people are government employees, which is a terrible conflict of interest. Even if it isn’t illegal, it is improper, and should not be allowed.
Vote For Grassroots!
I cannot stress enough how important it is that you vote for grassroots conservative candidates in the August 6th primary. We are at a crossroads as a county, and if voters continue to elect Good ‘Ole Boys with no spine or willingness to challenge the status quo, or elect weak, corrupt, deceitful campaign conservatives, who fold on principle at the direction of special interests, or at the first sign of resistance, there will soon be no turning back.
We The People of Cass County Missouri has created a voter guide of candidates that we have endorsed, so that you have a document you can print and take with you to the polls, or have available on your phone. This guide includes Precinct Committee candidates in Cass county as well.
