Cultural Impact Conference Recap
If you were not able to make it to the Cultural Impact Conference, you missed a pretty fantastic gathering of Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Christian Activists who were fired up and some great talks by people like William Federer, Seth Gruber, and Tony Perkins. Not to worry, though. We are working on getting access to videos of the talks, and will be doing a recap of the event at our WTP of Cass County meeting this week.
There are also many great free downloadable resources on the event website. Here are just a few examples:
A legal memo reinforcing the rights of Pastors to speak on policy issues.
A Microsoft Word formatted letter template for you to personalize and send to friends and family
A list of bullet points outlining the problems with Amendment 3
See you Thursday evening!
Cass County Library Board Tax Increase Not “Unanimous” After All
Diana Larson, a local conservative who cares about low taxes and the public library system in Cass county (and a friend of mine) sent me the following correction to a mistake printed in the Tribune and Times newspaper:
The Tribune and Times that went out August 29 had an error in the first story which stated that the library board voted UNANIMOUSLY to increase the library 2025 tax levy by almost $.02. I fought hard last year (along with Jessica Levsen) to DECREASE the tax levy - which, thanks to Tonya Long joining the fight, we were able to accomplish. At this year's board meeting, I gave my reasons why we could once again lower this current tax levy by $.01 and still collect $60,000 more than this current year. (By keeping it the same, we would have collected almost $300,000 more than this year.) I was the only board member who made any comments concerning the levy. The vote was taken - 4-1. Of course, I was the only dissenting vote. I am vocal about NO TAX INCREASES, and to have my name included in this "unanimous" tax increase disturbs me. Please know I did NOT support this increase.
Sincerely,
Diana Larson

General Flynn Prosecution Was Actually Persecution
Not enough attention is being given to this national story in The Federalist.
Declassified Susan Rice Email Confirms Michael Flynn Was Personally Targeted In Oval Office Meeting
The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently determined that an ambush FBI interview of Flynn, which later formed the foundation of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s single charge against Flynn, had no legal basis. Contemporaneous handwritten notes from the FBI’s top counterintelligence official at the time show that the FBI’s goal in targeting Flynn in early 2017 was to “prosecute him or get him fired.” DOJ is currently in the process of dismissing all charges against Flynn, citing rank corruption and abuse of power in the FBI’s campaign against Flynn. [emphasis mine]
Whether you believe all the things Gen. Michael Flynn is saying these days or not, there is no doubt he was targeted and persecuted, not because he committed any crime, but because of how effective he is at what he does, and the enemies of We The People fear him.
Oh, and just so we’re clear… The United States government is completely corrupt.
CORRUPT (adjective)
Guilty of dishonest practices, as bribery; lacking integrity; crooked:
Debased in character; depraved; perverted; wicked; evil:
Infected; tainted.
New MO Non-Profit: Article 3 Institute
A new Missouri Non-Profit organization has launched that I think is worth your time to look over. Please see the press release below:
For Immediate Release
September 4, 2024
This week the Article 3 Institute was launched. As a Missouri non-profit public interest corporation, A3I is dedicated to educating the public and public officials about the Constitutional limits on the power of Missouri General Assembly and enforcing those limits through strategic litigation.
The single most important principle in an American republic is the idea that all political power is vested in the people and that any power government has is on loan – with strings attached.
Most politicians are enough aware of that to be certain to proclaim, while on the campaign trail, that they will represent the will of the people if elected. The campaign trail is when they are keenly aware of the most obvious “string” – the election process.
The strings most legislators ignore, however, are the ones the People placed on their power to make the laws that affect the People's lives and liberty.
“Chains” might be a better term for the limits the People of Missouri included in Article 3 of their state Constitution. That's where they loaned legislative power to the General Assembly but placed some very strict limits on both what sort of laws they can enact and how they can enact them.
Legislators who are serious about “listening” to their constituents will pay close attention to what their constituents say in Article 3, since the Constitution is their loudest and ever-present voice.
Article 3 is where, since 1865, the people have said that each and every bill can only have one subject, and that subject must be clearly stated in the bill's title. When that “chain” is ignored, laws are enacted that don't even have the support of a majority of the people's representatives.
And Article 3 is where, since 1875, the people have said that a bill's original purpose can not be changed at any time throughout the legislative process. Along with the single subject requirement, the original purpose “chain” helps to ensure both the People and their representatives can keep tabs on legislation as it moves through the process. As the Missouri Supreme Court has said, those clauses are intended to “defeat surprise” that can result from bait and switch tactics.
Article 3 is also where the People have declared that Missouri government is not for sale. There, they have prohibited laws that confer favored treatment to individuals or organizations and their lobbyists who line the halls and offices of the capitol building or write big campaign checks.
The sad fact is that these limits on legislative power are routinely ignored.
In Missouri, any taxpayer has standing to challenge the constitutionality of bills passed in violation of these limits.
Occasionally, some party who has been harmed by a particular bill will invest the time and treasure it takes to litigate, but there has never been an organization dedicated to organize and fund legal challenges to unconstitutional bills just on principle – until now.
The Article 3 Institute Incorporated is a 501(c)(4) public benefit corporation. Press inquiries can be directed to Ron Calzone at Ron.Calzone@article3institute.org

Book Recommendation
There are wolves among the shepherds, beloved, and the problem is getting worse. The only way back from the precipice of destruction as a nation is for true followers of Jesus Christ to share the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, which includes the morally bankrupt United States. As part of that process, we need to drive out the money-changers and apostates who are poisoning the true milk of the Word with a variety of false gospels. As cynical as I am, even I was surprised at how many big names in the evangelical community have sold out for mammon and the cult of “niceness” for influence and power. Megan Basham gets after it in Shepherds For Sale, naming names, and bringing receipts. This information is not for the country club christians that clutch their pearls at the idea of tossing tables or calling pastors out on their sin. It’s time to get back to, “Thus sayeth the Lord!”
