RINOs Are Killing IP Reform
Friends, our biggest priority this legislative session, Initiative Petition Reform, has been slow-walked and stalled by the RINOs in the MO Senate all session (for years if we are being honest). I do not use the term RINO lightly, but in this case, it is absolutely accurate. I have covered this many times this session, but to fail to get SJR 74 passed virtually guarantees a constitutionally protected right to abortions in Missouri, and nothing short of that. Further, it will set us up for multiple levels of gun control being enshrined in our constitution as well. That is not hyperbole or fear-mongering. That is absolutely what we are looking at, if IP Reform, as currently defined in SJR 74 fails to pass this week.
Democrats in the Senate are filibustering this, and the GOP has the ability to squash the filibuster, if they so choose. Cindy O’Laughlin claims she doesn’t have the votes (that’s GOP votes) to break the filibuster. You can read more details at Act For Missouri’s news update on IP Reform. That was posted Monday, but it is still absolutely relevant today. There is a great description of what is going on there, as well as links to Freedom Principle MO, which also has further details and links to all the specific legislation.
PLEASE click the link to Act4MO’s news update on IP Reform, and contact as many Senator’s on that list as possible, asking them firmly, but politely, to support breaking the filibuster and passing SJR 74, NO substitutes. Start with the two at the top of the list, Caleb Rowden and Cindy O’Laughlin, as they have the most control on whether or not this gets done.
Additionally, please pray. Pray that these politicians will prioritize life above grudges, pandering, donors, power plays, or ambition. Pray that God will bind satan and his demons, bring truth to light, and convict the hearts of any Christian senators who are refusing to lift a finger while this legislation dies.
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
