Memorial Day 2024
As we commemorate Memorial Day this year, I would humbly ask that we remember this is not a “happy” day. It is a solemn one, in which we are thankful for the sacrifices made by men and women who gave all they had to give, not for a flag, or a politician, thousands of miles away in Washington DC, but for you and I. Some we knew, and many we didn’t, but they all put themselves in harm’s way, and did not come home. That is worthy of remembrance.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13 KJV
Re-Elect Rick Brattin - Volunteers Needed!
NOW is the time when our support needs to grow feet to walk the district, hands to knock on doors, and mouths to encourage our neighbors, in order to help Senator Brattin win his primary. Canvassing the district is easily the single most important activity supporters can engage in to help a candidate win. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most difficult things to actually get people to DO. Please contact Athena Brattin (contact information below), and volunteer a few hours of your time once or twice during this contested primary season to help ensure Rick Brattin goes back to Jefferson City to represent us once again!

Another Trial Victory For Vetting
The following is an email from REPACCMO chair, and Vernon County Republican Central Committee chair, Cyndia Haggard, that was sent out earlier this week:
To: Grassroots Patriots
Just a quick update.
As most of you know, the MO GOP filed suit against a man named McClanahan because of possible ties to the KKK. Mr. McClanahan filed for the governor's race on the Republican ticket. (He previously filed for US Senate a couple of years ago. The MO GOP took his filing fee then as well.) The whole thing hit the papers, the MO GOP was embarrassed, and they filed suit to have him removed from our primary ballot.
The Cole County Circuit Court ruled on this last week. You likely will not hear about it from the MO GOP, though. Why? Because not only did it not go well for them, but also because the Court gave a nod to both Vetting and our right to accept or refuse filing fees and therefore candidates.
Attached is an excerpt of the ruling where the Court addresses the fact that they could have done what "segments" of the party are doing, i.e. vetting, and they could have rejected the filing fee. You can read the entire ruling HERE.
What can I say? Karma lives on the second floor of my home!
For county committees who have been hesitant to get involved in vetting, this should give you great confidence that it is OK and can be done. The Court's nod is instant credibility for the value and need for vetting BEFORE a candidate files, not after the damage has been done by accepting filing fees and then finding a problem. While interviews, conversations, invitations to events, etc, are useful for voters, the candidates have already filed at that point and as this court case showed, once the filing fees have been taken by the party it's too late for the party. OUR end of the evaluation process must occur BEFORE the filing fees are accepted.
Enjoy your week.

Help Our Fight Against Government Controlled Ballots
This email was also sent out by REPACCMO chair, and Vernon County Republican Central Committee chair, Cyndia Haggard, earlier this week:
To: Patriots In Our Party
ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT GOVERNMENT CONTROLLING YOUR PRIMARY BALLOT?
READ ON....I have put off this email for some time, but it's time to ask for help fighting Missouri county clerks in our state who have decided they should be picking our candidates for us. Our own clerk is wasting taxpayer funds filing appeals (this is her second) after losing at our trial, and commissioners who should stop may complain privately but fail to step up publicly. (One is even named in our suit and yet continues to have a say in whether the county continues to fund appeals!)
The flyer below pretty much says it all. The bottom line is, as Vernon County taxpayers get stuck with ongoing bills (without having any say), the results of these ongoing court battles will ultimately effect all political parties regardless of where you live in the state. Every county committee benefits from our court battle. Every county clerk will ultimately be told they cannot take filing fees and candidacies at the same time AS THE VERNON COUNTY CLERK HAS ALREADY BEEN TOLD. Her response? To file another appeal. She now says it's on behalf of all county clerks in Missouri! This is a political agenda outside her ministerial duties, and as this clueless useful tool continues to fund her political agenda with our money, our side must defend ourselves with private funds.
If you are a county committee chair, please take this request for help to your committee and/or individuals. If you are a grassroots patriot, please consider donating whatever amount you are comfortable with, knowing that a win for us means the Republican (and Democrat) parties remain in charge of who can represent their values. If we lose the battle, that means government gets to tell you who will or won't be on your party's ballot. That means Democrats can continue to file as Republicans, and the party won't be able to stop them. If you care about free and fair elections, please consider a donation to help us continue to fight.
This is a small county fight but the outcome legally is huge. Our attorney is doing this pro bono, but that means he is shouldering the expenses himself while our county clerk gets to spend the taxpayers' money to keep fighting the rulings that have all been in our favor so far. We expect every appeal to go our way, but it still costs real dollars to slug it out with a vindictive government employee who no one with authority will say no to. (Ultimately, voters will tell her no, but that's two years down the road.)
The estimated cost with this current appeal is $50,000. If she continues appeals beyond this, that amount could skyrocket to $100,000 or more!
Your help is appreciated. 100% of the donations (less the 1% going to give/send/go) will go to our attorney to cover his mounting expenses.
