It was great to see everyone Thursday night! I look forward to working with all of you this election season, furthering the conservative cause, and putting Missouri and America first!
IP Reform Update
In his Legislative Report from February 4th, Senator Mike Moon gives his informed perspective on the IP Reform battle in the Senate. He provides new and important information from his perspective.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to say this week. The Missouri Freedom Caucus breaks it down.
MO Freedom Caucus Parking Lot Podcast #2
As of Thursday, 02/08/2024, IP Reform legislation has been moved to the Informal portion of the Senate Calendar, meaning it may NEVER go anywhere at this point. Crybaby Rowden and Stompyfoot O’Laughlin are petty, vindictive, liars, and they need to be removed from their leadership positions.
If you agree, feel free to reach out to them. All I ask is that you be polite, but firm.

Brattin Capitol Report
Here is Missouri State Senator Rick Brattin’s Capitol Report for this week.
In addition, here is a statement released just yesterday, addressing a selective quote being used by the leftist media in attempt to smear the Senator:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harrisonville, MO - February 9, 2024
A partial quote of mine has been floating around the corporate media over the past 48 hours. The partial quote, referring to aborting an unborn child conceived in rape is, “But not the innocent person caught in-between that, by God’s grace, may even be the greatest healing agent you need in which to recover from such an atrocity.” The media, in their attempts to smear me and provoke attacks against my family, have presented this partial quote as being insensitive to what I refer to as the “atrocity” of rape. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. I made this comment as an attempt to amplify the voices of rape survivors who have described their children in the following way, “He is a blessing, not a curse, and he helped me heal from the rape, not relive it every day of my life. (Link to story: https://www.liveaction.org/.../rape-survivor-chose-life.../)
It was with quotes like these in mind that I went on to say in my very next breath, “In fact, I’ve heard numerous stories of rape survivors, and the fact that their children that they still gave birth to, were the greatest thing that ever happened to them. Those children aren’t stains.” So, as usual, the corporate media chose to slice up my words and present them to the public in hopes of producing outrage that is completely and totally unjustified. The media provoked these attacks against me while completely ignoring that Democrat State Senator Karla May suggested every 14 year-old-boy in Missouri should be required to have a vasectomy. This bias is frustrating but not shocking, as we all understand the corporate media is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.
Everyone reading my words needs to understand that I am 100% pro-life, and no amount of attacks against me or my family will silence me.

Candidate Vetting
As some of you may know, some key people in the Missouri Republican party have been working long and hard on a process to vet political candidates that wish to run as Republicans. This vetting process is NOT intended or structured to pick the “best” GOP candidates. This is a very basic process to ensure the candidate is at least a Republican, as defined by the MO Republican Party Platform. Unfortunately, the epidemic of RINOs in the party, such as Caleb Rowden, requires us to take this step.
Unfortunately, a few months ago, when the chair of the Cass County Republican Central Committee attempted to take a vote to require vetting in Cass County, she was unable to obtain a quorum, because a couple of people in attendance as proxies refused to produce their proxy paperwork so that a quorum could be established, because they did not want to require vetting, even though the an informal vote would have passed by a significant majority.
SO, for now, vetting is a voluntary process within the Cass County Republican Central Committee. However, the 4Cs is not bound in that way, and we are a conservative group, seeking to support conservative Republican candidates only. From this point forward, any political candidate that wishes to speak to the Cass County Concerned Citizens must first go through the vetting process of the Republican Association of Central Committees of MO (REPACCMO).
The process is easy, and several candidates have already gone through the process, including Missouri State Senator candidate Rick Brattin, Missouri gubernatorial candidate Bill Eigel, Missouri Secretary of State candidate Denny Hoskins, and State Representative candidate Michael Davis. Many Republicans at the county level have also been vetted already, like Cass County Commissioner Ryan Johnson. For a full list of vetted candidates, and an overview of the process, as well as legal justification for candidate vetting, visit the REPACCMO site vetting page.
Families for Home Education Capitol Report
In case you have never heard of FHE (I had not, because we homeschooled our kids while living in Kansas), Families for Home Education is “the oldest and largest statewide home school organization in Missouri, has been serving Missouri home educators since 1983. FHE is comprised of members – you, not just a board and staff. The purpose of FHE is to protect the inalienable right of the parents of Missouri to teach their own children without further state regulation and control.”
The FHE is actively working this legislative session to protect the rights of homeschooling families. Please see their Capitol Report for ongoing alerts, legislation information, and recommended actions YOU can take to make a difference in protecting this critical right.

Money and Politics
It takes money to win elections. This is probably the single most consistent message I hear from people I trust (and people I don’t) in politics. As much as I hate this truth, I am helpless to change it. For me, this sits right up there on my list of least favorite facts with other hard truths, like ice is slick, and gravity hurts. At least once every winter season I get a painful reminder of those two harsh realities.
BUT, I do not believe that whoever spends the most money wins. I will concede that usually that is the case, but not always, and I am not alone in my belief.
The Truth About Campaign Donations
The Power of Political Money is Overrated
President Trump is the most well known example of this exception in recent memory, and he continues to be an anomaly in this space. The challenge for us is to figure out what has made his candidacy so different, and how we can take advantage of these same factors after 2024. Personally, I think the two biggest difference makers for The Donald are 1) his almost instinctive ability to focus in on a message that resonates with voters, and 2) his ability to draw in numbers of people that are simply unprecedented.
I will be the first to admit, I am not an expert in anything related to this topic. I’m just an everyman who has been angry with both parties for a very long time, as I have watched my country slide toward oblivion unchecked, while money fills the pockets of all the power players involved. I laughed alongside everyone else when Trump announced his candidacy. However, there came a point where he started saying things I wanted to say. He prioritized things I wanted prioritized. He challenged the status quo, and called out the Republican party as much as he did the democratic party. He pissed off the people pulling the strings of the politicians, and I loved it.
My point is very simple. This is Trump’s last election cycle. He has his own money he can spend, or not spend, as he sees fit. We don’t have that luxury. We need to figure out how to do more with less money, because our problems don’t go away with one more Trump Presidency. We still need conservative, action-oriented grass roots leaders and candidates, with lots of working people to surround them with, to counteract the democrats, sell-outs, RINOs, and administrative statists. The big money donors come with big strings our candidates are not willing to accept (if they want our support). That means we need a LOT more small money donors, a LOT more workers, and better messaging than the money candidates can pay consultants for.
It’s a lot to think about, but if we don’t figure it out, the momentum will stall, and the movement fade away like the Tea Parties.
