New Location for May Meeting
Our We The People of Cass County MO meeting in May will be at a new location! We will be meeting at Merle’s American Tavern, just off I-49 on the east side of Peculiar. They are in a central location in Cass county, have some great food, nice service, and a covered patio with windows that close and climate control.

I will include reminders between now and our next meeting, May 9th.
Please help spread the word!
Grassroots Leaders Endorse Sen. Rick Brattin
Back in October of 2023, before The 4Cs became We The People of Cass County MO, it was still called Cass County Concerned Citizens. At that time, I, along with several other grassroots leaders in Missouri Senate District 31 endorsed Senator Rick Brattin for re-election in 2024. Here is that joint statement. Since that time, Senator Brattin's reputation and conservative bonafides have only increased in my eyes.
Winning elections takes money. I don't like it, but it is just a fact. There is a great opportunity to support Senator Rick Brattin's re-election next Friday, 04/26/2024 in Warrensburg, MO. Please consider sponsoring or attending if you can. Rick will not compromise his integrity by selling out to special interests. That means he needs as much individual support as possible. Thanks!

In the, “Stuff we already knew” category, the US House of Representatives Select Committee On The Strategic Competition Between The United States And The Chinese Communist Party released their report on the CCP’s role in the Fentanyl crisis, which is available for download below:
When we talk about 5th Generational Warfare, this is the kind of stuff we are referring to, folks. There is no doubt that the Chinese Community Party is instrumental in the fueling of the fentanyl crisis in the United States.

AG Bailey Puts KC Mayor On Notice
Mayor Quentin Lucas took to Twitter to invite illegal immigrants to Kansas City. AG Bailey responded with the following official notice:
A Quick Note On Conservatism And The Minimum Wage
There are close to a dozen Initiative Petitions underway related to minimum wage laws in the state of Missouri this year. As with most things conservative, the general population does not understand the negative consequences to minimum wage laws. In fact, many who consider themselves Conservative also do not understand the full impact of these laws.
Milton Friedman on Minimum Wage Laws
Good ‘ole Milt’ explains it so much better than I can. Forcing business to pay a minimum of $15 per hour guarantees two things. First, it guarantees there will be fewer unskilled labor jobs available, making it more difficult on those entering the workforce, like teenagers and recent high school graduates, to find jobs. According to FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data), the overall unemployment rate as of March 2024, is 3.8%. However, the unemployment rate for teenagers, aged 16 - 19, is 12.6%, nearly 3 times as high. Businesses will not hire employees that cost more than the revenue they generate. That’s not mean-spirited or evil. It’s basic economics and wise business practice.
The second thing a $15 minimum wage guarantees, is that businesses will be even more incentivized to spend more and more money on research and development to automate as many unskilled labor jobs as possible, as quickly as possible. This will permanently eliminate many unskilled labor jobs across entire industries, ensuring that even businesses that want to hire entry level, unskilled workers, will have a harder and harder time justifying the cost, because they will not be able to compete with their automating competitors.
Moreover, raising the minimum wage is fool’s gold when inflation is high (hello, Bidenomics?).
How Inflation Destroys the Minimum Wage
As conservatives, we have a responsibility to speak up for the principles we espouse, especially when we consider that these principles will actually solve generational issues like poverty. Leftist ideas have had decades to “work” in just about every major city in the country, and around the world, and they have failed each and every time.
